About Race City Offroad
Built From Experience. Driven by Passion.
Race City Offroad may be a new name, but the experience behind it has been more than 30 years in the making. Owner and founder Rodger Ueltschi has spent his career in the motorsports world, building, fabricating, racing, and turning ideas into machines built to perform. Rodger’s story began on the West Coast in the 1990s, building late model race cars and eventually serving as crew chief for a Winston West team. After two years as crew chief, a longtime best friend convinced him to make the move across the country to North Carolina—right into the heart of NASCAR country.
In 2002, Rodger joined Roush Racing, where he became part of Greg Biffle’s No. 16 team and served as Greg’s gas man for the next six years. But while racing was a major part of Rodger’s life, fabrication had always been where he felt most at home. In 2007, he returned to those roots, joining Greg outside of the NASCAR world to build and fabricate custom off-road vehicles and side-by-sides. What started as another project quickly became a shared passion. Over the years, Rodger and Greg spent countless hours designing, fabricating, building, testing, and—most importantly—duning together.
That passion eventually led them to form PACE Offroad and later the Sand Outlaw Racing Series, bringing together their love of high-performance machines, competition, and the off-road community.
After Greg’s passing in December 2025, Rodger stepped away for several months. Losing his longtime best friend and someone he had worked alongside for so many years changed more than just the direction of his career. But the passion for building never went away.
Race City Offroad is the next chapter
Built on more than three decades of motorsports experience, Race City Offroad carries forward the same commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and precision that has defined Rodger’s work throughout his career—while bringing new ideas, new capabilities, and a fresh vision for what comes next.
From custom fabrication and performance upgrades to parts and complete off-road builds, every project receives the same attention to detail Rodger has brought to race cars and off-road machines for more than 30 years. Because around here, it isn’t just about selling parts or building another side-by-side. It’s about building something we’re proud to put our name on.
Race City Offroad: Same quality. Same precision. New chapter.
